WHO WE ARE
For over 50 years, CITY HOME has been committed to enriching people's lives — our customers, our Associates, and our communities.
Where it all began
In 1971, recent college grad Kevin Koenig opened Waterbed City in Fort Lauderdale with just $1,500 in savings. He was soon joined by his brother Keith, and the two grew the business quickly, selling waterbeds for the groundbreaking price of $29.95.
As the years passed and the industry changed, the brothers changed with it, reinventing the brand as CITY Furniture in 1994 and expanding into furniture and decor. That entrepreneurial sprit and relentless commitment to value has since made CITY one of the Top 100 Furniture Retailers - and today, the 15th largest furniture retailer in the USA.
The legacy lives on
Keith's son, Andrew, has stepped into the role of CEO, leading the company alongside his father and carrying the entrepreneurial spirit forward. Together, they continue to evolve the brand - most recently transforming into CITY HOME, expanding far beyond furniture offer everything you need for every room, all in one place.
The vision is simple but game changing: a better shopping experience where style, selection, and unbeatable value all come together, grounded by a culture of giving back. With business expected to double, or even triple, in the coming years, our future is incredibly bright.
We are expanding across Florida, Orlando, Tampa, and Atlanta markets — creating thousands of new career opportunities every year. 95% of our leadership positions have been filled from within. When CITY HOME grows, so do our people.

5% Giving Pledge
Together, there's no limit to what we can accomplish in our community. That's why we're committed to giving back at least 5% of our annual profits. We structure our donations around five main giving pillars: home, health, service, belonging, and education. It's our way of saying thank you for bringing us into your home, and helping us make an impact where our neighbors, friends and families need it most.
Our annual CITY Cares Report offers a transparent look at the responsibility we take, and the future we're working to create.
Our 2040 Green Promise
We are working to go carbon neutral by the year 2040. Our goal is to offset our carbon footprint by making the right choices today. It's a three-part journey that involves our award-winning green fleet, smart facilities, and large-scale recycling efforts. Because no home is more important than our planet.
